THE COMPLEX NEEDS YOUR HELP TODAY!
After nearly a year and a half of planning, working, and fundraising, The Complex Board of Directors has put forth a timeframe to finish raising the funds for the future recreation and community center. In order to continue with the project, The Complex will need to receive $1,000,000 in donations before October 15,, 2010. This million dollars on top of the money that The Complex has already raised will allow the building to be purchased and equipped with the necessities. Once this goal is reached, fundraising will continue to add the community center.
“We are very confident that we will reach this goal in the next three months. I truly believe the community wants this to happen, but now we need them to step up financially,” stated Board President, Ted James. “There really is no amount that is too small or large, we need it all.” The Complex Board has been meeting weekly since last January to plan the recreation and community center. Volunteers throughout the area have put nearly 2,000 hours of work into the building. The campaign and marketing teams have spent countless hours giving tours, presentations, open houses, and making phone calls to prospective donors. All of the plans are in place, The Complex now needs you to keep the dream alive!
Mayor Larry Russell, a frequent volunteer at The Complex, had this to say about the future of the recreation and community center, “People have the opportunity to leave a legacy in this community. By contributing to The Complex, people are not only helping themselves, neighbors, and relatives, but also leaving something great behind for future generations. Just about all of this town’s major attractions have been inherited. It’s time for this generation to leave their mark.”
The Complex Board would like to thank everyone who has generously donated their time and money already towards the project. If you haven’t donated and would be willing to contribute in any way, please send all donations to:

Faces of The Complex
The Complex has benefited from a stream of volunteers who have put in over 1,000 hours of work for the future recreation and community center! Furthermore, The Complex Board of Directors has been meeting weekly for over a year to make this dream a reality. Today we’d like to introduce you to the staff who keeps this project moving forward on a daily basis.
Colleen Wilkin, Trudy Murphy, and Kelsay McCausland have been instrumental in the progress The Complex has made in the past few months. Colleen Wilkin has been working as the Campaign Manager for The Complex since April of last year. “I was so excited about what a center like this could offer for kids in the area and really wanted to do whatever I could to make it happen. We spent so much time traveling to other areas for sports growing up; it would have been great to offer more here. I want my nephews and niece to be able to enjoy The Complex as they grow up.”
Trudy Murphy joined The Complex team April 1st to work on sales and marketing. “As a Clinton resident, I could really see the need for this type of facility in the Gateway area. I’m excited to be a part of such a positive project that will benefit so many people. Also, The Complex will be a great drawing point for people who are considering making their home in this area.”
Kelsay McCausland, a marketing and graphic design major at Ashford University, was hired on as an intern at The Complex for the summer. She has done an excellent job designing ads and marketing materials along with planning youth programs that will begin when the center opens. “As a student-athlete in the area, I really liked the idea of having a place available to practice at my own convenience. Also, this is a great place to work or intern for students!”
We’d like to thank all of our donors and volunteers who have done their part in getting us closer to our goal. The Complex raised OVER $50,000 in the past TWO WEEKS! The Complex

The Complex is being opened in response to a large amount of people in Fulton and the surrounding communities requesting a recreation and community center. There is no other facility that serves all age groups and interest levels in the area. We are very proud of the diversity that is present on the Board of Directors, thus giving us a complete view of how we can best serve the entire community.
The Board is planning to open a 50-60K square foot facility that will feature a recreation center large enough to host tournaments and trade shows along with a 200 meter track and fitness center. The community center will offer the space and amenities for individuals, businesses, and social groups to gather for various functions and activities.
